About Me:
Julia Schafermeyer (she/they) has been in private practice since 2011. She’s an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist; Certified EMDR Therapist; and a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist. Julia’s taught Theory and Methods of Sexual Therapy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City since 2014 and, on occasion, Ethics and Practicum courses. As a member of the KC Queer-Affirming Therapist Guild, she coordinates training events for other local therapists. They worked at a domestic violence shelter for five years, providing individual and group therapy and crisis intervention. Julia began her counseling training after witnessing a great need for therapy services in her previous non-profit profession.
